Synopsis Art I Am Patterns of Creativity is a reflection of the belief that creativity can help us find patterns in our increasingly fractured world. Melis van der Sluis, a gifted artist and founding Chair of the New Zealand Childrens Art House Foundation, certainly believed so. Melis spent countless hours penning immaculate patterns and closely examining the flora of New Zealand.

Melis left his extensive art collection to the Foundation, and many of appeared in the film Oku Moe Moea The Dream which is Bigger than I Am. Foundation founder and director Shona Hammond Boys presents in this book a selection of Meliss line drawings along with his quotes around art, creativity, and life. One of New Zealands leading thinkers and activists on childrens art, Shona has provided the patterns in a format to allow readers to delve deeply into the detail as well as to participate in the creative process.

Readers are invited to take part through less detailed works, but this is more than just a colouring book it is a book to inspire and provoke..
